What ETFs do you recommend that have a good selection of growth stocks?

As a young investor (early 30s), what ETFs would you recommend that have a good selection of growth stocks?

A: Exchange traded funds (ETFs) typically track an index. In Australia, there is no “growth stock index” per se, and so no ETFs.

You can put together a portfolio of ETFs that have a strong growth bias – that is, a weighting to Australian and international shares.

I would look at VAS for Australia (tracks the S&P/ASX 300), and IHVV for the US (the latter is a currency hedged version on IVV that tracks the US S&P 500. If you want a stronger growth bias, you could consider NDQ from Betashares which tracks the NASDAQ 100.

There are some sector based ETFs that give exposure to particular industries. IXJ tracks global healthcare, while Betashares has some niche ETFS – HACK (for Cybersecurity) and RBTZ (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence).
