Your investment commentary does not cover investing in mortgages that I can see. I have been investing in individual mortgages through La Trobe financial and doing quite well. Would be interested in any thoughts you had on mortgages as an investment.

We haven’t done a lot with mortgages because there have been so many problems in the industry, and there are now only a handful of products available.
I think as long as you know what you are doing, the investment is in a diverse, low LVR multi-mortgage portfolio with liquidity, and you understand that you are taking on risk that banks and other lenders have declined, then they are satisfactory product. However, they are probably not suitable for most investors.
