I have a SMSF in pension mode. Recently I received a document regarding AMP’s AGF fund being wound up. After reading both sides I thought the fund should be wound up, but I’m not totally convinced. Do you have an opinion?
A: A really good question – and I am not sure that there is a clear answer.
On the one hand, it is very unlikely that the actions AMP Capital are now proposing to take would have happened had it not been for the actions of the disgruntled investors. On the other hand, at least they are addressing the problems.
Bottom line is whether you want to continue to invest in the Fund. If you don’t, vote for a wind-up. If you do, then stick with AMP and support their resolutions.
