Stocks of interest on the Australian Securities Exchange on Wednesday:

IAG – INSURANCE AUSTRALIA GROUP – up 24 cents, or 4.3 per cent, at $5.81

Billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is buying a $500 million stake in Insurance Australia Group after the two companies entered into a 10-year partnership.

SHL – SONIC HEALTHCARE – up 33 cents, or 1.6 per cent, at $20.73

Shares in pathology and radiology provider Sonic Healthcare are up on positive broker reports about Monday’s news that it had acquired Swiss medical laboratory group Medisupport in a $455.3 million deal.

TAH – TABCORP – down eight cents, or 1.7 per cent, at $4.66

Wagering giant Tabcorp will no longer broadcast Victorian thoroughbred races on its Sky Racing channels, except in 92 Victorian TAB agencies.

WBC – WESTPAC – up 58 cents, or 1.8 per cent, at $32.30

Westpac plans to sell down its stake in BT Investment Management for up to $700 million.
