BHP – BHP BILLITON – up 16 cents, or 0.5 per cent, at $31.39
At least one worker has been injured in an accident at BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam underground copper mine in South Australia.
BKN – BRADKEN – down 70 cents, or 22.2 per cent, at $2.45
Bradken suffered a $92.6 million half year loss as the downturn in mining investment continues to weigh on the engineering group.
COH – COCHLEAR – down 84 cents, or one per cent, at $86.76
Hearing implants maker Cochlear has more than tripled its first half profit as recent product launches continue to lift sales.
CTX – CALTEX AUSTRALIA – up 12 cents, or 0.35 per cent, at $34.43
Caltex Australia is continuing to benefit from weak oil prices, with a 40 per cent bump in its refining margins.
SGH – SLATER AND GORDON – up 57 cents, or 8.6 per cent, at $7.18
Slater and Gordon has reaffirmed its full year guidance after lifting its half year profit almost 47 per cent.
TAH – TABCORP – up 31.7 cents, or 6.8 per cent, at $4.98
Tabcorp shares has resumed trading after the company completed a $142 million capital raising from institutional shareholders.
YOW – YOWIE GROUP – up half a cent, or 0.8 per cent, at 64 cents
Yowie, a chocolate treat encasing toy animals, will go on sale at the world’s biggest retailer Walmart, despite a US ban on sweets with embedded toys because of choking risks.
