Stocks of interest on the Australian Securities Exchange on Wednesday:

BHP – BHP BILLITON – up 53 cents, or 1.35 per cent, at $39.68

The world’s largest mining company BHP Billiton has lifted its full year profit 23 per cent, and announced, late on Tuesday, that it is demerging the majority of its aluminium, coal, manganese, nickel and silver assets into the new entity, dubbed NewCo.

WES – WESFARMERS – up 19 cents, or 0.43 per cent, at $44.00

Mining and retail company, Wesfarmers issues its full year results on Wednesday.

WPL – WOODSIDE – up 30 cents, or 0.7 per cent, at $43.05

Woodside Petroleum to release its half year results.

APN – APN NEWS & MEDIA – steady at 77.5 cents

Newspaper and radio network owner APN News & Media to release its half year results.

CCL – COCA-COLA AMATIL – up 10 cents, or one per cent, at $9.74

Food and beverage company Coca-Cola Amatil to issue its half year results.

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP – up 10 cents, or 2.2 per cent, at $4.62

Iron ore miner Fortescue to unveil its full year results.

SEK – SEEK LTD – up 29 cents, or 1.74 per cent, at $17.00
