Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Tuesday, March 24:

IIN – IINET – down 10 cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $8.85

TPM – TPG TELECOM – up three cents, or 0.3 per cent, at $8.83

Internet provider iiNet is facing opposition from some shareholders and staff to its $1.4 billion takeover by rival TPG.

ORI – ORICA – up 49 cents, or 2.6 per cent, at $19.10

Orica director and former BHP executive Alberto Calderon has been appointed interim CEO at the explosives maker in the wake of the sudden exit of Ian Smith.

PMV – PREMIER INVESTMENTS – up $1.25, or 11.1 per cent, at $12.54

Solomon Lew’s retail outfit Premier Investments will pay shareholders a special dividend after lifting first half profit by nine per cent against a backdrop of mixed consumer confidence.

TEN – TEN NETWORK – up one cent, or 4.6 per cent, at 23 cents

Struggling broadcaster Ten appears left with just one financial lifeline, which would require changes to media ownership laws, after the withdrawal of a takeover offer from a US cable giant.
