Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Tuesday, June 3:

ASL – AUSDRILL – down 11 cents, or 11.28 per cent, at 86.5 cents

Mining contractor Ausdrill has again downgraded its full year profit forecast, this time by nearly 30 per cent.

FUN – FUNTASTIC – down 0.9 cents, or 13.04 per cent, at six cents

Toy distributor Funtastic has halved its earnings forecast and announced the departure of its chief executive.

ORG – ORIGIN ENERGY – down 54 cents, or 3.58 per cent, at $14.55

KAR – KAROON GAS – up 95 cents, or 38.6 per cent, at $3.41

Origin Energy will pay $US800 million ($A865.57 million) for a stake in two gas exploration permits in Western Australia’s Browse Basin.

RCG – RCG CORPORATION – down 8.5 cents, or 12.23 per cent, at 61 cents

The impact of the federal budget and a warm start to winter has hit earnings at shoe retailer RCG Corporation.

SAI – SAI GLOBAL – up nine cents, or 1.76 per cent, at $5.20

IT company SAI Global is reviewing its options after a $1.1 billion takeover offer sparked interest from several potential buyers.

UGL – UGL – up 54 cents, or 8.2 per cent, at $7.10

Engineering firm UGL says its confidential talks about the potential sale of its property services business DTZ continue, but have not reached a conclusion.

WDC – WESTFIELD GROUP – up seven cents, or 0.65 per cent, at $10.77

WRT – WESTFIELD RETAIL TRUST – up five cents, or 1.57 per cent, at $3.24

Westfield Retail Trust investors will have the chance to change their mind on a proposed controversial merger with the Australasian business of Westfield Group.
