Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, Aug 6:

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP – up 11 cents, or 6.2 per cent, at $1.885

Two Chinese firms are reportedly eyeing Fortescue’s assets, and Fortescue said it has not reached any agreements with potential investors.

GMA – GENWORTH MORTGAGE INSURANCE – steady at $3.51

Reporting a flat half year underlying profit, Genworth Mortgage Insurance says loan delinquencies increased by 8.4 per cent on the corresponding period last year, driven by mining-related unemployment in Western Australia and Queensland.

QFX – QUICKFLIX – steady at 0.2 cents

After its efforts to find an Australian partner fell through, struggling online streaming service Quickflix has turned its sights on China.

SHJ – SHINE CORPORATE – up 14 cents, or 5.45 per cent, at $2.71

Law firm Shine Corporate has bought West Australian injury law specialist Bradley Bayly for $13.3 million.

SKE – SKILLED GROUP – up six cents, or 3.8 per cent, at $1.64

PRG – PROGRAMMED MAINTENANCE SERVICES – up 10 cents, or four per cent, at $2.60
