Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, Nov 6:

BHP – BHP BILLITON – down 19 cents, or 0.56 per cent, at $33.82

BHP Billiton has signed a deal to export oil products out of the US, in a sign the country’s decades long ban on exports is ending.

CBA – COMMONWEALTH BANK OF AUSTRALIA – up 79 cents, or 0.98 per cent, at $81.56

The Commonwealth Bank has started the financial year with a $2.3 billion first quarter cash profit, up from $2.1 billion a year ago.

CSR – CSR – up 10.0 cents, or 2.86 per cent, at $3.60

Building products maker CSR is confident of lifting its underlying profit amid the housing boom.

SCG – SCENTRE GROUP – up five cents, or 1.4 per cent, at $3.62

Sales at Westfield shopping centres in Australia and New Zealand have increased.

TEN – TEN NETWORK – steady at 21.5 cents

Pay TV operator Foxtel is believed to be considering making a joint takeover bid for the troubled Ten Network.

TSE – TRANSFIELD SERVICES – up four cents, or 2.15 per cent, at $1.90

Takeover target Transfield Services has upgraded its annual earnings guidance as it continues talks with Spanish predator Ferrovial.
