Stocks of interest on the Australian Securities Exchange on Thursday:

BHP – BHP BILLITON – up $1.55, or 3.9 per cent, at $38.13

BHP Billiton shares fell sharply on Wednesday, after investors were disappointed the mining giant is not returning funds to them amid plans to demerge its smaller mining assets.

WES – WESFARMERS – up $1.66, or 3.8 per cent, at $45.66

Wesfarmers will give an extra $1.1 billion back to shareholders after lifting its full year profit 19 per cent.

WPL – WOODSIDE – up 33 cents, or 0.8 per cent, to $43.38

Woodside Petroleum has increased half year profit by 27 per cent and says it is confident about gas demand despite a large number of new projects coming online.

AMP – AMP – down three cents, or 0.5 per cent, at $5.52

Financial services giant AMP releases its half year results on Thursday.

ORG – ORIGIN ENERGY – up one cent, or 0.1 per cent, at $14.19

Origin Energy issues its full year earnings.

MGR – MIRVAC – up 2.5 cents, or 1.3 per cent, at $1.905

Property group Mirvac reports its full year results.

SUL – SUPER RETAIL GROUP – down one cent, or 0.1 per cent, at $8.72

Super Retail Group, owner of BCF (boating, camping, fishing) and Ray’s Outdoors stores issues its full year earnings.

AIO – ASCIANO – up five cents, or 0.8 per cent, at $6.02

Rail freight and ports operator Asciano unveils its full year results.

TAT- TATTS – up four cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $3.62

Lotteries and wagering company Tatts releases its full year results.

IIN – IINET – up nine cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $8.25

Internet service provider iiNet issues its full year earnings.

SYD – SYDNEY AIRPORT – up one cent, or 0.2 per cent, at $4.35

Sydney Airport half year results are due out.

TWE – TREASURY WINE ESTATES – up four cents, or 0.8 per cent, at $5.33

Treasury Wine Estates, the owner of Penfolds, Lindeman’s, Wolf Blass and Rosemount brands, issues its full year results.
