Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, April 3:
GFF – GOODMAN FIELDER – down 13.5 cents, or 22.1 per cent, at 47.5 cents
Australasia’s biggest food company, Goodman Fielder, is bringing forward its plans for 300 job cuts in response to a weaker than expected financial performance.
QBE – QBE INSURANCE GROUP – up six cents, or 0.5 per cent, at $12.80
Billion dollar profits are back on the agenda for QBE as the insurer tries to get back on track after after a “perfect storm” of problems with its US business.
Meanwhile, a law firm is looking to launch a class action against QBE on behalf of shareholders hit by a massive share price fall in December caused by news of the company’s US woes.
