Stocks of interest on the Australian Securities Exchange on Monday:

CBA – COMMONWEALTH BANK – up $1.59, or 1.9 per cent, to $85.09

WBC – WESTPAC BANKING CORPORATION – up 44 cents, or 1.33 per cent, to $33.56

ANZ – ANZ BANKING GROUP – up 47 cents, or 1.44 per cent, to $33.19

NAB – NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK – up 88 cents, or 2.63 per cent, to $34.32

The big four banks are enjoying their best trading session in two months, despite a lack of any company news.

EVN – EVOLUTION MINING – steady at $1.175

Gold miner Evolution Mining has completed the institutional component of a $248 million equity raising.

FDC – FEDERATION CENTRES – up one cent, or 0.33 per cent, to $3.04

NVN – NOVION PROPERTY GROUP – down five cents, or 2.01 per cent, to $2.44

A merger of the two major shopping centre owners has cleared its final hurdle and is expected to completed by June 11.

SRX – SIRTEX – in a trading halt, last traded at $26.68

Shares in biomedical group Sirtex have been placed in a trading halt ahead of the release of new information about a clinical trial of its liver cancer treatment.
