Vocus Communications has taken the dramatic step of selling its stake in Amcom Telecommunications to counter rival TPG Telecom’s efforts to derail a proposed merger.
DLX – DULUX GROUP – up 17 cents, or 2.7 per cent, at $6.55
DuluxGroup half year earnings are due out on Monday.
ELD – ELDERS – down two cents, or 0.63 per cent, at $3.18
Elders releases its half year results on Monday.
MTS – METCASH – up 15.5 cents, or 12.06 per cent, to $1.44
Metcash shares are climbing after the retailer behind IGA supermarkets is considering spinning off its automotive businesses, which includes the Autobarn, Autopro and Midas brands, and listing them on the share market.
TTS – TATTS – up two cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $4.04
TAH – TABCORP – up 10 cents, or 2.12 per cent, to $4.82
The Victorian government could avoid paying gaming giant Tatts Group $540 million in compensation after it convinced the High Court to let it appeal an earlier court decision. However the High Court also granted Tabcorp’s request to appeal the Supreme Court’s rejection of its $687 million compensation claim from the state.
