Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Monday, March 23:

APN – APN NEWS AND MEDIA – up 4.75 cents, or five per cent, at 99 cents

Shares in APN News & Media rose after a massive sell off of shares by two of its major shareholders, and purchase of a near 15 per cent stake by News Corp.

CWN – CROWN RESORTS – up 18 cents, or 1.4 per cent, at $13.34

James Packer’s Crown Resorts has increased the size of a capital raising through the issue of subordinated notes due to strong demand.

WPL – WOODSIDE PETROLEUM – up 39 cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $35.70

Oil and gas producer Woodside Petroleum has successfully restarted production at its Pluto liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in north Western Australia.
