Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Monday, Feb 23:

JHX – JAMES HARDIE – up 40 cents, or 2.9 per cent, at $14.35

Building products maker James Hardie has narrowed its full year guidance after lifting its profit 11 per cent during the December quarter.

MPL – MEDIBANK PRIVATE – down nine cents, or 3.5 per cent, at $2.47

Medibank Private’s shares have fallen after it reaffirmed its full year guidance and posted a $151.2 million half-year net profit in its debut as a share market listed company.

REG – REGIS HEALTHCARE – up 58 cents, or 12.75 per cent, at $5.13

Aged care provider Regis Healthcare has increased its full year earnings guidance after reporting a first-half net profit in line with its full-year prospectus forecast.

STO – SANTOS – down 21 cents, or 2.6 per cent, at $8.03

Santos has frozen its senior executives’ salaries after falling to a $935 million full year net loss.

TLS – TELSTRA – up 3.5 cents, at $6.61

Telstra boss David Thodey is stepping down after six years in the job, to be replaced by the company’s finance chief Andrew Penn.
