Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at the close on Friday:

BHP – BHP BILLITON – up 7.00 cents, or 0.2 per cent, at $33.40

Mining giant BHP Billiton has caved in to shareholder demands to list its yet-to-be-named $US15 billion spin-off in London.

OZL – OZ MINERALS – down 3.00 cents, or 0.75 per cent, at $3.96

The head of gold and copper miner OZ Minerals is stepping down more than six weeks before his replacement joins the company.

STO – SANTOS – up 8.00 cents, or 0.6 per cent, at $12.72

Oil and gas producer Santos has lifted production nine per cent to its highest level in seven years, thanks to the ramp-up of the massive PNG LNG project.

VAH – VIRGIN AUSTRALIA HOLDINGS – steady at 37.5 cents

Virgin Australia will pay just $1 to take full ownership of discount carrier Tigerair Australia.

VHL – VIRAX HOLDINGS – up 0.2 cents, or 40 per cent, at 0.7 cents

Biotech firm Virax’s shares have jumped 40 per cent after announcing its set to takeover US government funded clinical trials of a drug to treat terminal cancers.
