Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Monday, July 7:

AQA – AQUILA RESOURCES – down one cent, or 0.3 per cent, at $3.39

AZJ – AURIZON – steady at $5.08

China’s Baosteel and Aurizon are in control of Aquila Resources after increasing their stake to nearly 70 per cent.

VAH – VIRGIN AUSTRALIA – steady at 42.5 cents

Virgin Australia has appointed the bosses of Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways and Singapore Airlines to its board.

WPL – WOODSIDE PETROLEUM – up 19 cents, or 0.5 per cent, at $41.81

Woodside Petroleum has taken a stake in an oil and gas basin off Morocco’s north-west coast.
