Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Friday, July 10:

AMP – AMP – up six cents, or 0.97 per cent, at $6.27

AMP Capital’s China Growth Fund has been hit by turmoil in Chinese stocks, with the fund advising that a number of shares in its portfolio have been placed in a trading halt.

AWC – ALUMINA – up six cents, or 4.21 per cent, at $1.485

Australian company Alumina Ltd says it received $US71 million in income in the first half, while its joint venture partner Alcoa has announced a small quarterly earnings boost.

BFG – BELL FINANCIAL GROUP – up five cents, or 11.63 per cent, at 48 cents

Stockbroker and financial advisor Bell Financial Group’s half year pre-tax profit has more than quadrupled.

BHP – BHP BILLITON – up 45 cents, or 1.77 per cent, at $25.88

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP – up 11 cents, or 6.57 per cent, at $1.785

RIO – RIO TINTO – up 83 cents, or 1.66 per cent, at $50.89
