Stocks of interest on the Australian Securities Exchange on Friday:

BHP – BHP BILLITON – down four cents, or 0.14 per cent, at $28.51

About 140 jobs at BHP Billiton in Adelaide are set to go following a review of support functions within its Olympic Dam operations.

CKF – COLLINS FOODS – up seven cents, or 2.63 per cent, at $2.73

Collins Foods will shut some of its Sizzler restaurants after the struggling brand led to a multi-million dollar writedown.

LYC – LYNAS CORPORATION – up 0.2 cents, or 6.06 per cent, at 3.5 cents

Rare earths miner Lynas says it cannot explain why its shares fell almost 25 per cent in recent days.

MAH – MACMAHON – up 2.2 cents, or 47.83 per cent, at 6.8 cents

Macmahon shares have jumped after the $US65 million sale of its Mongolian coal contract, but the mining contractor and industry’s short-term prospects are still viewed as bleak.

SGH – SLATER AND GORDON – down $1.07, or 17.46 per cent, at $5.06

Slater and Gordon has suffered its worst share price slump as UK authorities probe the accounts of a company it recently bought a slice of for $1.2 billion.
