Amcom has slammed TPG Telecom’s “self interested” bid to block a merger with Vocus as it seeks support from its own shareholders to create a new third force in telcos.

AMP – AMP LTD – down six cents, or 0.94 per cent, at $6.33

AMP has increased the size of its wealth management business by six per cent during the first three months of the year.

AWC – ALUMINA – down 3.5 cents, or two per cent, at $1.735

Alumina holds its annual general meeting on Friday.

MQG – MACQUARIE GROUP – down 38 cents, or 0.49 per cent, at $76.50

Macquarie Group releases its full year results on Friday.

Mining giant Rio Tinto’s chief executive Sam Walsh has defended the group’s iron ore expansion, saying it is not responsible for the commodity’s massive price falls.
