AVJ – AVJENNINGS LTD – steady at 30 cents

Residential property and housing developer AVJennings will put more new homes on the market in response to what chief executive Peter Summers says are signs of improvement after a difficult year.

BPT – BEACH ENERGY LTD – down 3.5 cents at $1.40

Oil and gas producer Beach Energy says its Cooper Basin operations are going well as it boosts staffing levels and ramps up its $400 million growth phase.

CZZ – CAPILANO HONEY LTD – steady at $2.20

Honey seller Capilano says it is actively buzzing for acquisition opportunities a day after announcing its offer to merge with West Australian honey distributor Wescobee.

DJS – DAVID JONES LTD – down one cent at $2.43

Recent interest rate cuts have yet to work their magic on consumers and get them spending again, David Jones’ outgoing chairman Bob Savage says.

DML – DISCOVERY METALS LTD – down one cent at $1.69

The board of Discovery Metals has urged shareholders to reject Cathay Fortune Investment’s $1.70-a-share takeover offer after an independent expert concluded the bid was too low.

LEI – LEIGHTON HOLDINGS LTD – down 20 cents at $16.88

MAH – MACMAHON HOLDINGS LTD – up 0.5 cents at 29 cents

A joint venture between Leighton Holdings and Macmahon Holdings subsidiaries has been selected as the preferred tender for a $450 million upgrade of the Pacific Highway in northern NSW.

MND – MONADELPHOUS GROUP LTD – down 30 cents at $21.32

Engineering group Monadelphous says it has secured an $80 million contract to provide maintenance services to Queensland Curtis LNG at its new gas plant.

PRU – PERSEUS MINING LTD – down three cents at $2.45

Perseus Mining has downgraded its December quarter production forecast for its Edikan mine in Ghana following delays earlier this month.
