Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at close on Monday:

AQA – AQUILA RESOURCES LTD – down 22.5 cents at $1.805

The share price of minerals explorer Aquila Resources took a hammering after its Japanese joint venture partner pulled out of some of its Queensland coal exploration permits.

BHP – BHP BILLITON – down four cents at $32.54

BHP Billiton has sold a copper mine in the US for $US650 million ($A634.86 million) as the resources giant continues to off-load assets.

DLS – DRILLSEARCH ENERGY – in a trading halt, last traded at $1.19

Oil and gas explorer Drillsearch Energy will raise up to $US125 million ($A122.09 million) through a bond issue to pay down debt.

STO – SANTOS LTD – down three cents at $12.24

Oil and gas producer Santos has committed to a $100 million drilling and appraisal program over the next 12 months in the Northern Territory.

TAH – TABCORP HOLDINGS LTD – up five cents at $3.39

Wagering and gaming firm Tabcorp has reported a 2.6 per cent lift in third quarter revenue to $480.3 million.

WDC – WESTFIELD GROUP – down one cent at $11.58

Queensland government has approved the state’s first Costco store, overriding rival Westfield’s attempt to lock out a competitor.
