Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at close on Friday:

AMP – AMP – steady at $5.10

ANZ – ANZ – down 28 cents at $27.75

CBA – COMMONWEALTH BANK – down $1.17 at $66.93

WBC – WESTPAC – down 54 cents at $30.25

NAB – NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK – down 43 cents at $30.57

The federal government has announced a raft of superannuation changes, including a tax exemption on superannuation earnings supporting pensions and annuities will be capped at $100,000, and anything above that level taxed at a rate of 15 per cent.

DJS – DAVID JONES – down nine cents at $2.91

MYR – MYER HOLDINGS – up five cents at $2.97

Australian shoppers are expected to buy fewer clothes from local retailers in 2013 before starting to splash their cash next year.
