Share market closes lower

The share market has closed lower as an unexpected fall in exports from China caused falls for miners and reversed the market’s early gains.

At 1615 AEST on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 8.1 points, or 0.14 per cent, at 5,960.3, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 7.3 points, or 0.12 per cent, at 5,928.1.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was down one point at 5,952, with 17,444 contracts traded.
