Share market closes higher

The share market has closed higher as a rise in iron ore and oil prices boosted the resources and energy sectors.

At 1615 AEST on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 34.7 points, or 0.59 per cent, at 5,960.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 35.1 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 5,928.3.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was up 36 points at 5,962, with 20,094 contracts traded.
