The managing director of the company that makes Four’n’Twenty pies has resigned.

Greg Bourke ended five years as managing director of Patties Foods on Wednesday, but no reason was given for his resignation.

Patties Foods, which also owns brands such as Nanna’s and Herbert Adams, incurred a 75 per cent fall in annual profit in 2012/13 due to a large reduction in the value of its frozen fruit business.

The company has appointed its chief financial officer Michael Knaap and head of sales Tim Peters as joint acting chief executives while it searches for a replacement for Mr Bourke.

Patties Foods’ shares were down 3.5 cents, or 2.6 per cent, at $1.33 at 1506 AEST.
