The Australian share market has finished lower for the sixth session in a row with the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index hitting its lowest level for the year.

Wall Street has fallen, with the S&P technology sector leading the losers with a 1.7 per cent decline, ahead of a Fed rate decision.
