Origin Energy will raise $500 million through a note issue to help fund its contribution the the Australia Pacific liquified natural gas (LNG) project.

Origin has lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for the offer of dated, unsecured, subordinated, cumulative notes, it said on Tuesday.

The notes will be offered to institutional investors, shareholders and the general public from November 23.

Origin said the proceeds of the offer will be used for general corporate purposes, in particular to assist in funding the company’s contribution to the giant coal seam gas Australia Pacific LNG project (APLNG) in Gladstone, Queensland.
