NRW Holdings wins $180m Rio deal

Mining services provider NRW Holdings has won a $180 million contract at Rio Tinto’s Nammuldi iron ore mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The contract includes bulk earthworks for the processing plant, waste fine storage facility, mine service facilities, stockyard and explosives compound.

It also includes roadworks and a rail link with a train loading facility.

The project is expected to run for 37 weeks, starting in May, and at its peak, more than 400 workers will be required.

At 1101 (AEST) Tuesday, NRW Holding’s shares were up six cents, or 4.9 per cent, at $1.29.
