Rupert Murdoch’s News Limited will be no more from next week – in name anyway.

The newspaper business will be re-named News Corp Australia on July 1 as Mr Murdoch’s global media empire News Corp splits into two companies.

The Australian business’ logo will also be revamped, taking on the new News Corp logo that is based on the based on the handwriting of Rupert Murdoch and his late father Sir Keith.

News Ltd employees received an email on Wednesday from chief executive Kim Williams informing them that the new name of the name change.

Mr Williams told staff that News Corp Australia would continue to offer the best journalism, analysis and insight across all platforms and devices.

The change coincides with the official split of News Corp into two separately listed businesses.

The `new’ News Corporation will include newspaper titles in Australia and around the world, plus Australian pay TV assets.

Other pay TV assets and filmmaking and entertainment operations will be part of 21st Century Fox.

The newly hived off publishing business is already trading separately in Australia and the US.

Local `New’ News Corp shares were up two cents at $16.52 at the close on Wednesday, after debuting at $15 a share a week ago.
