Sales of new motor vehicles in Australia fell 1.5 per cent in September, official data shows.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Monday that new vehicle sales fell to 86,872 units in September, seasonally adjusted, compared to 88,192 units in August.

In the year to September, new motor vehicle sales rose 1.3 per cent, seasonally adjusted.
