Engineering company Monadelphous Group says it has been awarded two new construction contracts in Western Australia worth about $150 million.

The first contract was for BHP Billiton’s petroleum business and involved structural, mechanical and piping installation works at the Macedon Gas Project, Monadelphous said in a statement on Wednesday.

The second contract was with Rio Tinto and involved the design and construction of a gas transmission pipeline from the Goldfields gas pipeline to a power station near Newman.

“These new contracts support the continuing strategic development of our business,” Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said in the statement.
