Construction giant Leighton has won a $370 million contract to build a new terminal and car park at Melbourne Airport.
Leighton will build the airport’s new Terminal 4 in a joint venture with its subsidiary Broad Construction.
The contract includes the construction of baggage handling facilities, check-in kiosks, staff amenities and retail areas.
Leighton will also construct a new seven-storey car park for the airport.
Work on the project is expected to begin in October and to be completed in 2015.
Meanwhile, Leighton’s middle east subsidiary has signed an $80 million contract for work on a new convention centre in Dubai.
The contract includes the fitout of one of two commercial towers that make up the Jafza One-Jafza Convention Centre in Dubai and road works around the project.
Work on the tower has started and is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
