Leighton wins $246m project in India

An Indian building company owned by construction giant Leighton has won a $246 million contract to build a luxury apartment building south of New Delhi.

Leighton Welspun Contractors is part of the Leighton Asia, India and Offshore Group, and works in the energy and construction industries in India.

It will begin building a nine-tower residential building called The Camellias in the city of Gurgaon in the coming months.

The project is expected to be completed in four years.
