Habtoor Leighton Group has signed a $65 million deal to construct accommodation and utilities on two artificial islands near Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
The construction is part of the Satah Al Razboot (SARB) oilfield development for the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO).
The project is located 120 km north-west of Abu Dhabi.
Managing director Jose Antonio Lopez-Monis said the new project reinforced the group’s capabilities in the oil and gas sector.
“Oil and gas-related projects such as the SARB project align perfectly with HLG’s building and infrastructure expertise and the group’s ability to deliver specialist projects in remote locations,” Mr Lopez-Monis said.
HLG will be responsible for the management and supervision of off-shore installation works on the two artificial islands.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-2014.
