Engineering and infrastructure firm Downer EDI has won a contract worth up to $800 million to provide mining services for private collier TEC Coal’s Queensland mine.

The five and a half year contract involves Downer EDI providing full mine management at TEC Coal’s Meandu mine in south east Queensland.

This includes planning, drilling and overburden removal, coal mining and processing, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant.

The contract is worth between $600 million and $800 million, Downer EDI said in a statement on Wednesday.
