Australian shares open higher

The Australian share market has opened slightly higher, with gains by bank and industrial stocks outweighing losses among the miners.

At 1017 AEDT on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 7.4 points, or 0.14 per cent, at 5,130.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 6.9 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 5,144.4.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was up six points at 5,129, with 7,183 contracts traded.
