Australian market set to open lower

The Australian share market is set to open lower on Tuesday after a lacklustre session on Wall Street.

At 0708 AEST on Tuesday, the June share price index futures contract was down 17 points at 4,780.

In local economic news, the Australian Bureau of Statistics releases housing finance data for April.

National Australia Bank’s May business survey is also due for release.

The market was closed on Monday, and on Friday the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index dropped 43.5 points to 4,737.7 and the broader All Ordinaries index lost 42.5 points to 4,729.3.
