Aust shares close higher

The Australian share market has closed higher, despite data showing China’s manufacturing dipped to its lowest level in almost a year.

At the close on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 13.0 points, or 0.22 per cent, higher at 5,969.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 13.5 points, or 0.23 per cent, at 5,934.5, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was 14 points higher at 5,971, with 20,386 contracts traded.
