Aust shares close flat

The Australian share market has closed flat, with the big supermarket owners weighing on sentiment as the earnings season winds up.

At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 1.5 points, or 0.03 per cent, higher at 5,625.9 while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 3.3 points, or 0.06 per cent, at 5,624.6, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the September share price index futures contract was steady at 5,609, with 21,478 contracts traded.
