The share market closed lower for a fifth straight day, capping its work week since mid-2013.

At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 32.2 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 5,299.2, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 31.8 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 5,278.8, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was 33 points lower at 5,247, with 31,194 contracts traded.
