Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, with fresh iron ore price falls weighing on the resources sector.

At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 26.8 points, or 0.47 per cent, lower at 5,624.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 27.6 points, or 0.49 per cent, at 5,621.3, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the September share price index futures contract was 27 points lower at 5,602, with 17,283 contracts traded.
