Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, falling into the red after a record breaking 12 straight sessions of gains.

At the close on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 5.3 points, or 0.09 per cent, lower at 5,814.5, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 4.6 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 5,770.1, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was six points higher at 5,758, with 21,651 contracts traded.
