Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, with the big miners and big supermarkets weighing on the broader market.

At the close on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 30.9 points, or 0.57 per cent, lower at 5,368.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 30.6 points, or 0.57 per cent, at 5,352.5, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 39 points lower at 5,376, with 24,497 contracts traded.
