Aussie shares close lower

The share market has closed lower due to weakness in the mining and energy sectors.

At the close on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 6.9 points, or 0.12 per cent, at 5,517.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 7.4 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 5,494, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 10 points lower at 5,530, with 21,685 contracts traded.
