Aussie shares close flat

The Australian share market has closed flat on the back of mixed inflation data from China and poor business and consumer confidence figures locally.

At the close on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 2.9 points, or 0.05 per cent, higher at 5,824.2, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 1.3 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 5,794.3, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was six points lower at 5,809, with 21,963 contracts traded.
