The Australian share market has closed lower, extending its losses from Wednesday when it recorded its biggest fall in two years.
At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 46.5 points, or 0.82 per cent, lower at 5,645.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 45.8 points, or 0.80 per cent, at 5,645.1, according to preliminary figures.
On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was 35 points lower at 5,610, with 41,508 contracts traded.
