EPS growth

I read Mr Aitkens article with interest. I have always been interested in the PEG ratio. My question is: how do I find out the EPS growth of a company, especially a small/medium cap?

Profit up for NIB

Hi Peter,
NIB reported today and being a long term share holder I was initially happy. Profit up, dividend up but what about the share price? Down thirty six cents. There wasn’t a high turnover but a lot of small sales up to three thousand shares. What’s going on? Is somebody shorting these shares?

Tax threshold

Surely the tax-free threshold of $1.6 million for an individual should be changed to a combined figure for a couple. This is how the eligibility for a pension is determined, and not on the individual assets of one partner.

There are many reasons why it is not appropriate for one partner to transfer funds to their spouse, for example, in a divorced and remarried couple where they wish to protect the inheritance of their individual children. Surely it is fair to determine a tax-free balance of say $.30M for a married couple, and not for the individuals themselves.

What to do in these circumstances?

CYB shares

I received almost 5000 CYB shares from NAB after the restructure. They don’t report until next year but are on track to 700K pounds profit for the financial year. Like having money in a cheque account. Any help?

Mid Cap 50

In Paul Rickard’s excellent article on SMSF performance, he mentioned the strong performance of the “mid cap 50”, shares ranked 50-100 on the ASX 200.

I have looked for managed funds which focus on this group, and whilst I can find lots of “small/mid cap” focused funds, I have not found anything mentioning the mid cap 50 specifically.
Can you tell me the names of 2 or 3 funds specialising in the mid cap 50?

WAM Capital

WAM Capital SPP, would you recommend taking up the offer at $2.14 or do you consider the price too far above the NTA? Paul Rickard has indicated that he doesn’t think it a good buy at the current market price for this reason.
