AGO – ATLAS IRON – down one cent, or 5.3 per cent, at 18 cents

Atlas Iron lifted production 23 per cent during the December quarter but was selling its product at a loss, with the price of its iron ore below production costs.

BHP – BHP BILLITON – down 23 cents, or 0.8 per cent, at $27.48

The mining giant will release its December quarter production report on Wednesday, and is expected to have notched up two per cent gains in iron ore production during the second quarter of the financial year.

BKL – BLACKMORES – up $4.00, or 11.6 per cent, at $38.50

Health products company Blackmores said its profit in the six months to December 31 will be up 50 per cent from $12.1 million in the same period a year earlier, indicating a result of about $18 million.

GUD – GUD HOLDINGS – up 38 cents, or 5.6 per cent, at $7.18

GUD, the owner of the Sunbeam kitchen appliances brand lifted its first half profit 16 per cent and says it is on track to meet its full year earnings guidance.

PSA – PETSEC ENERGY – steady at 9.1 cents

Oil and gas explorer and producer Petsec will release its quarterly results on Wednesday.

RIO – RIO TINTO – down 47 cents, or 0.9 per cent, at $53.69

Rio Tinto lifted its iron ore sales by 17 per cent to a record 302.6 million tonnes in 2014 and increased production by 11 per cent to 295.4 million tonnes, indicating that it sold more than seven million stockpiled tonnes.

SXY – SENEX ENERGY – down two cents, or seven per cent, at 26.5 cents

The oil and gas company will release its December quarter results on Wednesday.
